Location: Oneonta, NY Category: Adjunct Teaching Faculty Posted On: Wed Jan 3 2018 Job Description: The Department of Theatre at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for an adjunct lecturer position to teach section(s) of THTR 100: Theatre Appreciation for Spring Semester 2018. Applications will be kept on file in the Art Department for consideration for two years. The School of Arts and Humanities is organized into six departments: Art, English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Music, Philosophy, and Theatre. The Theatre Department is NAST accredited and currently has 8 full-time faculty and staff and supports approximately 50 theatre majors and several dozen theatre and dance minors. The Department is located in the Fine Arts Center which includes a 500 seat proscenium main-stage theatre, a 120 seat black-box theatre, and acting, design and makeup studios. Duties include but not limited to: teaching one or two sections of Theatre Appreciation. Job Requirements:Required Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in Theatre or related discipline; experience in the field; and a desire to teach non-majors in a lecture format.
Preferred: master’s degree in Theatre or related discipline; experience teaching at an undergraduate level; experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience.
