Location: Old Westbury, NY Category: Adjunct Positions Posted On: Thu Dec 14 2017 Job Description: The Department of Mathematics, Computer and Information Sciences at SUNY Old Westbury is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach History of Mathematics in the Spring 2018 semester (01/22/2018 – 05/18/2018).  The class will meet on Tuesday and Thursday 3:50 p.m. – 5:20 p.m.

MA2500 History of Mathematics

A survey of the history of mathematics from the beginnings through the 20th century. With special attention to culture and mathematics.  Emphasis on topics germane to the high school curriculum. Job Requirements:Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Master’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or ABD in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.
  • Teaching experience at the college level.

Additional Information:The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
